How can we help?
Answers to common questions about Pokku.
Does Pokku work without the Windows app?
Yes. Phone management, finding, missed-call alerts and Drop all work between Android phones. The Windows companion is only needed for backing up photos and videos to a PC.
Is my backup uploaded to the cloud?
No. Backup & clean up sends selected photos and videos directly to your linked Windows PC over your local network.
Can Pokku answer calls on another phone?
No. Android reserves that level of call control for the phone receiving the call. Pokku alerts you about missed calls and lets you call back.
Why does my phone sometimes not respond, or respond late?
Remote actions need the other phone to be on, online, and allowed to run Pokku in the background. Some phone makers' battery settings stop background apps. Open Pokku on that phone and follow the Always reachable setup, which walks you through notifications, background data and battery settings. Pokku shows each command's progress so you know whether it arrived.
Can Pokku be used to track someone without them knowing?
No. A phone can only join your mesh after someone scans a QR code on that phone and approves it, and new phones start with limited access. Using Pokku on someone else's phone without their permission is against our terms.
Why does Pokku ask for so many permissions?
Each permission powers one feature and is requested only when you set that feature up. Location finds phones, notification access relays missed calls, and the camera scans QR codes. Our privacy policy lists every permission and what it is used for.
I lost my only Full-control phone. How do I get my mesh back?
Sign in on a new phone with the same account and enter your saved recovery code. If you haven't made one yet, create it now in Pokku's Security Center and keep it somewhere other than your phones. Each code works only once, and creating a new code replaces the old one.
Pokku Desktop can't find my phone.
Make sure the phone and PC are on the same Wi-Fi network. If Windows asks whether to allow Pokku Desktop on your network, choose Allow on private networks. Guest or public Wi-Fi networks often block devices from seeing each other.
